Maqsood Patloo Arrested in Anjuna Narcotics Bust

Over 1.8 kg ganja and Rs7L cash seized in Bardez raid

Acting on a tip-off, the Anjuna Police arrested Maqsood Ahmad Patloo, 54, during a significant narcotics seizure near Jamun Bar & Restaurant in Assagao, Bardez early Sunday morning. The operation, led by PSI Amir Taral, was conducted from 12:20 am to 3:25 am on August 3, 2025.

Patloo, originally from Behar, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir and now residing in Assagao, was found carrying a black shoulder bag containing 1,770 grams of suspected ganja (valued at Rs1.7 lakh), 56 grams of suspected hydroponic ganja worth Rs5.6 lakh, and Rs7 lakh in cash.

Following the seizure, the police registered Crime No. 110/2025 under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused was formally arrested at 5:20 am. All Supreme Court guidelines were meticulously followed during the arrest and evidence collection.

PSI Amir Taral is supervising the ongoing investigation into this serious offence, and an express report has been submitted to higher authorities.
