by Sophia Bennett

Danial Moghaddam, a dissident singer and activist, was arrested by security forces in Shiraz on Tuesday, July 29, and transferred to Greater Tehran Prison, according to HRANA, the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran.

Moghaddam had previously shared a video describing the chaos inside Evin Prison during an Israeli airstrike. He revealed that amid the shock and emergency evacuation, he left the prison in a disoriented state and did not return.

In the video, Moghaddam explained that his arrest was connected to his support for families of those killed in protests, calls for the release of political prisoners, and his demonstrations outside Evin Prison against executions.

On June 25, 2025, Moghaddam’s lawyer, Mohammad-Hadi Jafarpoor, confirmed that he was detained following an order from Branch 3 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court after failing to post bail.

Danial Moghaddam has a history of arrest and sentencing related to his activism and dissent.
