Delhi Police have arrested a 58-year-old woman, Meeta, a known bootlegger and drug peddler, who was absconding for over two years after being booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

Meeta, a resident of Nand Nagri in northeast Delhi, was involved in the illegal trade of alcohol and narcotic substances. She was booked under MCOCA in 2023 and had managed to evade arrest until now.

“She is a listed history-sheeter at the Nand Nagri police station with 20 criminal cases registered against her,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan.

Meeta was finally tracked down and arrested by a police team following sustained surveillance. She is now in custody, and further investigation is underway into her network and criminal activities.
