COEYMANS, N.Y. — A 38-year-old Albany woman, Amber Mercado, has been arrested and charged with grand larceny after allegedly stealing nearly $7,500 from her employer, Carver Companies, authorities announced.
According to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, Mercado worked as an Accounts Receivable Clerk for the company when the theft occurred between July and November 2024.
An investigation into the missing funds began in February 2025, eventually leading to Mercado’s arrest. She was formally charged with Third Degree Grand Larceny and arraigned in Coeymans Town Court.
The sheriff’s office did not disclose how the theft was carried out, but confirmed the funds were misappropriated during her time in the clerical role.
The case remains under investigation.
