The Hyderabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has arrested a senior official along with two associates for allegedly embezzling up to Rs2 crore by manipulating the admission process at Chaitanya Deemed to be University in Himayatnagar, Rangareddy district. The arrested individuals include Sanikommu Suma, the dean responsible for admissions and a resident of Warangal, along with her associates Bhuthapati Dinaker and Burra Srikanth from Hanamkonda.

The complaint was filed by Dr. Chintalapani Venkata Purshottam Reddy, the founder of the university. According to EOW police, many students are referred to the university by agents, for whom the university pays a commission. The accused allegedly falsified records to present direct admissions as facilitated by these agents, creating fake documentation with agent names.

Once admissions were secured, the trio is accused of issuing forged payment vouchers in the names of these agents and diverting the funds for their personal use. The total value of the scam is estimated to be between Rs1 crore and Rs2 crore.
