RICHMOND, Ind. – A 36-year-old Richmond woman, Misty Wooten, is facing multiple charges after allegedly shooting at a man during a domestic incident Sunday evening.

According to the Richmond Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1600 block of East Main Street shortly before 7:30 p.m. Witnesses at the scene directed officers to the suspect, later identified as Wooten, who was quickly detained.

Investigators said Wooten fired a pistol at a man she knew. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Wooten has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful carrying of a firearm, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, and intimidation with a deadly weapon.

“This reckless act of violence could have ended in tragedy,” said Police Chief Kyle Weatherly. “Let me be clear—if you try to harm someone in this city, we will find you and ensure justice is served.”

Wooten remains in custody as the investigation continues.
