Dominic Long Arrested After Knife Attack Outside Fargo Bar
FARGO, N.D. – A man is facing charges after police say he cut another man with a knife during a confrontation outside the Old Broadway bar in downtown Fargo early Saturday morning.
Court documents state that shortly after 2:00 a.m. on July 27, officers were alerted to a disturbance near the scene. A suspect, later identified as Dominic Long, approached officers and was detained.
During a search, police found a knife, brass knuckles, and four throwing stars in Long’s possession. Long admitted he had used the knife in what he described as an act of self-defense. He claimed he was assaulted by a group of men and used the knife to defend himself, cutting one individual in the process before fleeing.
The injured man told police a different story. He said he had been speaking to a woman when Long approached, upset. He reportedly heard a knife open, raised his arm, and was cut while trying to punch Long. He said others then began hitting Long.
Police observed a flesh wound on the victim’s right forearm that matched his account.
Long was arrested at the scene and is now charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
