North Troy Woman Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Minor
NORTH TROY, Vt. (WCAX) — Vermont State Police have arrested 36-year-old Maria Chagnon of North Troy following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile.
Authorities say the investigation began on July 4th in collaboration with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) after a report involving a minor victim was made.
Based on gathered evidence, police charged Chagnon with sexual assault. She was taken into custody at her residence earlier today.
Chagnon is currently being held without bail at Northern State Correctional Facility as the case proceeds.
