BOURBON COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) — A 24-year-old Fort Scott man, Michael Olkowski, has been arrested on multiple child sex crime charges following a joint investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the Fort Scott Police Department.
According to a press release issued by the KBI, Olkowski was taken into custody on Wednesday, July 23, around 1 p.m. He faces charges of sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated internet trading in child pornography.
The arrest came after law enforcement executed a search warrant at Olkowski’s residence on 920 W. Park Ave. in Fort Scott. The investigation was initiated by the KBI Child Victims Unit after receiving multiple cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) earlier in July.
Olkowski has since been booked into the Bourbon County Jail as the investigation continues.
