OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. — A man was arrested for allegedly driving drunk with his 12-year-old daughter in the vehicle.
Police responded to a report on July 13 shortly before 10 p.m. about a suspected drunk driver who had struck the median wall on I-75 and continued driving on a flat tire.
Officers found 40-year-old Jacoby Akeem Miralda and his daughter walking away from the car stopped on the southbound I-75 off-ramp to Crooks Road.
Authorities noted Miralda’s speech was slurred, he was unsteady on his feet, and his eyes were bloodshot and watery. He did not have a valid driver’s license and had an outstanding felony warrant.
Miralda refused to perform sobriety tests and initially declined a blood draw but complied after a search warrant was obtained.
He was charged with operating while intoxicated (his third offense), driving with a suspended license, failure to stop at a property damage accident, and reckless driving.
Miralda was arraigned on July 14 with bond set at $10,000.
