MILLBROOK, Ala. (WSFA) — A 65-year-old attorney from Millbrook, John David Norris, has been arrested on four counts of dissemination of child pornography, according to the Millbrook Police Department.
The investigation began in February 2024, when authorities received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), indicating someone in the Millbrook area was distributing images depicting child sexual abuse material.
After identifying Norris as a suspect, police executed search warrants at both his residence and law office, seizing multiple electronic devices.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Computer Forensics Unit analyzed the devices and determined there was probable cause to continue the investigation.
Last week, an Elmore County grand jury issued an indictment, and Norris was taken into custody on Wednesday. He is currently being held in the Elmore County Jail on an $80,000 bond.
Authorities have not ruled out additional charges, and the investigation remains ongoing.
