Nakodar police have arrested Harpreet Singh, a travel agent from Guru Teg Bahadar Nagar, Nakodar, for allegedly duping a village woman of Rs 27 lakh.
The complainant, Ravendar, had paid Rs 27 lakh to Singh to facilitate her migration to Canada. However, the accused neither arranged the travel nor returned the money.
Following a complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), authorities took swift action leading to Singh’s arrest. The police have launched a detailed investigation into the fraudulent scheme.
