Woman charged after verbal dispute and firearm display

by Sophia Bennett

DARLINGTON COUNTY, South Carolina — On May 17, deputies responded to a verbal dispute between two people near North Marquis Highway in the Hartsville area of Darlington County.

Officials say Takeyshia Lucas caused a disturbance at a store’s cash register and showed a firearm. She followed the victim out of the store but then returned inside to get the weapon, apparently intending to confront the victim again.

Lucas was arrested on Friday and charged with breach of peace, which is considered high and aggravated. She is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center and awaits a bond hearing.
