Central ACP K Damodhar announced on Monday the arrest of two suspects in the murder of retired Assistant Engineer B Venkata Rama Rao. The accused, Pallapu Manga alias Anusha (31) and her partner Vemireddy Upender Reddy (27), allegedly killed Rama Rao for money and valuables.

Both hail from Khammam district and lived in a rented home in Nulakapet near Tadepalli. Manga, married off at 12 and mother of three, separated from her first husband before marrying a man named Raju through the Elo Elo app. After domestic disputes, she left him and connected with Upender on the Mojo video app. The couple recently wed at Srikalahasti temple and rented a house in Nulakapet.

Manga began working as a caretaker at Rama Rao’s residence on July 7 and discovered cash in his safe. She informed Upender, and together they plotted to rob him. On July 10, while Rama Rao was asleep, the duo murdered him.
