SAVANNAH, Ga. — Three men are scheduled to stand trial on Monday in connection with a 2022 double shooting that claimed the life of 31-year-old Mykel Price.
Mikell Sanders (24), Malik Grant (29), and Marquis Grant (24) are facing murder and related charges stemming from the November 2022 incident at Winwood Place in Savannah. Price later died at the hospital, while a second man was also injured.
The three defendants most recently appeared in court in June and are set to begin their jury trial before Judge Karpf at 9 a.m. Monday.
Since his initial murder arrest in 2023, Sanders has been re-arrested for obstruction, criminal trespass, marijuana possession, and driving with a suspended license. He is currently in custody at the DOJ facility in Albany.
Malik Grant has also faced further legal trouble since his murder charge, including arrests for false statements and DUI. He was released on bond again on June 8.
Marquis Grant has remained out on bond since May 2023 and, along with Malik, appeared in person at the June court date.
The victim’s family continues to honor Mykel Price’s memory, as the case now heads to trial nearly three years after the fatal shooting.
