Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of an Apex man after a traffic stop in the Vass area led deputies to a large marijuana discovery.
In the early morning of July 6, deputies from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 1. During the stop, officers discovered approximately 535 grams (1.2 pounds) of suspected marijuana and related paraphernalia.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Stephvon Jones, was arrested on felony charges, including possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Jones was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under a secured bond of $10,000 and is set to appear in Moore County District Court on July 26.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
