A traffic stop in Vass, North Carolina, led to the arrest of three residents on various drug and weapon charges. Moore County Sheriff’s Department detectives pulled over a vehicle in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 1 on January 31, after noticing it displayed a fictitious registration plate, according to a statement by Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

During the stop, detectives found suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, amphetamine, tramadol, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and $889 in cash inside the vehicle.

James Maddox, 55, was charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking and firearm offenses, including trafficking opium or heroin by possession and transport, possession with intent to sell methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Additional charges included driving with a revoked license and displaying a fictitious registration plate. Maddox was held on a $125,000 secured bond.

Margaret Kilcullen, 49, faces similar drug trafficking charges along with additional counts for amphetamines and carrying a concealed firearm. She was placed under a $100,000 bond.

Johnny Oldham, 45, was also arrested on charges of drug trafficking, firearm possession, and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. His bond was set at $100,000.

All three suspects remain in the Moore County Detention Center and are scheduled to appear in court on February 15. They are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
