Two Nigerian nationals, Alasonye Peter Obioma (35) and Sunday Windom alias John Victor Ambomo (28), were arrested by Bengaluru police for allegedly peddling drugs worth Rs4.5 crore near Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
Acting on a tip-off, Inspector Dileep Kumar KH and his team raided a rented house in Addiganahalli, Bangalore North taluk, where the duo had been residing for two months. Police seized 2.8 kg of MDMA crystals, 200 grams of hydro ganja, seven mobile phones, two weighing machines, and Rs 2 lakh cash from the premises.
The accused reportedly disguised themselves as security guards working at KIA and concealed drugs inside readymade clothes packed in cardboard boxes. They targeted sub-peddlers and consumers, mainly college students and software engineers.
During interrogation, the Nigerians admitted sourcing drugs from other states but did not disclose their suppliers or exact locations. Earlier, after their visas expired, they moved between states including Mangaluru before settling in Bengaluru.
Police highlighted that the duo rented the Addiganahalli house for its proximity to multiple private colleges and universities, facilitating easy access to young drug users.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act and the Foreigners Act, and investigations are ongoing to trace the larger drug network.
