On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, around 11 AM, the body of 28-year-old Spencer Watson from Pascagoula was discovered in a wooded area off Baywood Drive in Moss Point. Watson’s death is being treated as a homicide, with investigators believing the incident occurred on Monday, October 21.
The case began earlier Wednesday morning when Watson’s family reported him missing to the Pascagoula Police Department. Pascagoula detectives contacted Moss Point investigators due to reports of gunshots near Baywood Drive and River Pine Road on Monday, leading to critical information that eventually revealed Watson’s whereabouts.
Johnny William Anderson, a 22-year-old Moss Point resident, has since been arrested and charged with Watson’s murder. He is currently held at Jackson County Adult Detention Center, awaiting his initial appearance in court, with no bond set.
The Moss Point Police Department continues to investigate the events leading up to this tragedy and urges anyone with additional information to contact them.
