Stephen Kennedy, a 35-year-old Rochester resident, was arrested in Seneca Falls Thursday after failing to appear in court on an order of protection violation. According to Seneca Falls Police, Kennedy’s arrest led to additional charges involving drug possession, theft, and animal abandonment.
At the time of arrest, police report Kennedy was in possession of fentanyl and had allegedly left a business without paying, resulting in charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny.
In a separate incident on October 22, authorities allege that Kennedy abandoned his dog by tying it to a tree near Balsley Road. During this event, police say he was also found with methamphetamine, leading to further charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and abandoning an animal. Thankfully, the dog was recovered safely.
Kennedy is currently held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility awaiting arraignment.
