In a targeted anti-narcotics operation, the State Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department seized 27.51 grams of MDMA, worth an estimated Rs1.70 lakh, in two separate incidents in Hyderabad on March 28, 2025.

In the first case, the STF arrested Ramzan Sheikh, a resident of Andheri, Mumbai, at Nampally Railway Station while he was delivering drugs to two individuals. Officers seized 24.10 grams of MDMA during the operation.

The two recipients, identified as Ifran and Anwar, were also taken into custody at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the contraband was transported from Mumbai to Hyderabad via the Hussainsagar Express, highlighting a possible interstate drug trafficking network.

Further inquiries are underway to trace the supplier chain and verify whether the accused are connected to larger syndicates.

The STF continues to intensify surveillance at key transport hubs across Telangana as part of its ongoing crackdown on synthetic drug distribution.
