In a disturbing case of domestic violence, a 22-year-old man, Aman Kundan Narhare, was arrested by Kotwali police for allegedly attacking his mother-in-law, Namita Shahu, with a knife, inflicting serious injuries. The attack took place during a heated argument at his residence in Juni Shukrawari on Wednesday morning.
According to police, Namita, 43, had visited her daughter Bhumi Aman Narhare (19), who was reportedly facing issues in her marriage, accompanied by her husband to mediate a resolution. However, the situation escalated when Aman became enraged at their interference.
Witnesses said Aman warned the couple not to get involved in his personal matters. In a sudden outburst, he grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Namita in her head and neck. She was immediately rushed to Mayo Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
Based on Namita’s complaint, Kotwali police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Aman was arrested and produced in court, which remanded him to police custody. Authorities are continuing their investigation and emphasized the importance of addressing domestic disputes legally before they turn violent.
