In a disturbing case from Nagla Himachal village in Aligarh, a woman named Lalita allegedly conspired with her husband’s cousin and brother-in-law, Neeresh, to murder her husband, Rishi Kumar, a 30-year-old truck driver. Rishi was found shot dead the morning after being lured from his home on the night of June 17.
Police responded quickly, forming three investigative teams, and arrested Lalita and Neeresh within 24 hours. Authorities revealed that the motive behind the murder was an illicit relationship between Lalita and Neeresh, who planned to elope together. The incident has left the village shocked.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Amrit Jain explained that on the night of the murder, Neeresh lured Rishi out under the pretext of going for drinks. The following morning, Rishi was discovered shot dead.
Investigations confirmed that Lalita and Neeresh conspired to kill Rishi so they could be together. Lalita reportedly had been involved with Neeresh even before marrying Rishi. When Rishi found out about the affair, it escalated household tensions. Despite this, Lalita refused to end the relationship.
On the night of June 17-18, Neeresh allegedly shot Rishi after luring him outside, while Lalita did not inform the police or relatives about the murder. The couple was arrested near Naugawan crossing in Aligarh, and police recovered a country-made pistol based on Neeresh’s information.
Rishi Kumar’s last rites were held on June 19, and the village remains stunned by the betrayal within the family.
This tragic case highlights the dark consequences of obsession and betrayal within close relationships. While police acted swiftly, the incident calls for better community support and family dialogue to prevent such tragedies.
