HONOLULU (KHON2) — Kauai police have arrested Robert Clement, 28, and Patelo Paseka, 27, in connection with a sexual assault case involving two juveniles in Hanamā‘ulu earlier this month. Both men face first-degree sexual assault charges and have bail set at $100,000 each.
The case was reported on June 3, and following a thorough investigation, authorities identified Clement and Paseka as suspects and obtained arrest warrants. Clement was arrested on June 20, with Paseka taken into custody on June 23.
Kauai Police Chief Kalani Ke praised the detectives for their diligent work, stating that the investigation began with minimal leads but resulted in identifying the accused. The U.S. Marshals Service also assisted in one of the arrests.
Due to the sensitive nature involving juveniles, further details have not been released as the investigation continues.
