The cybercrime cell has arrested three key suspects—Rakesh Sav, Bipul Biswas, and Saumyajeet Ganguly—along with several others, for allegedly running fraudulent operations disguised as Adani Health Ventures Limited (AHVL).
Neha Lal, the general manager of AHVL, reported the activities to the cybercrime cell on May 22, indicating that individuals including Sovan Chogle, Shashi Sinha, and Saumyajeet Ganguly were involved in deceitful practices such as collecting deposits under the company’s name and promising medical product distribution franchises.
Investigations revealed the existence of a fraudulent office operating out of the World Trade Tower in Jaipur, Rajasthan, claiming to represent Adani.
According to Hardik Makadia, superintendent of police (SP) for cybercrime, the main suspects include Soumyajit Ganguly from Praganas, Kolkata, along with Rakesh Sav and Biplab Biswas, both from West Bengal. Other members linked to this gang are also under scrutiny.
Reports indicate that Sav provided counterfeit documents for Aadhaar cards, SIM cards, and bank accounts related to the operation. Biswas was identified as the owner of AHVL, while Ganguly served as the sales manager.
The investigation continues to unravel additional fraudulent activities, including possible involvement of other parties and significant sums of money associated with medical franchise deals nationwide.
