BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Authorities have arrested 30-year-old Timothy Antonio Moorer in connection with the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Literrance Leon Bratton in Ensley.

On May 18, Birmingham Police responded to the 2700 block of 30th Street following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Bratton suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police reported that Bratton and a close friend were at a food truck near a local motorcycle club when two black male suspects confronted him about money owed. After Bratton walked away from the confrontation, shots were fired, striking him.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported Bratton to UAB Hospital, where he later died during surgery.

West Precinct officers nearby heard the gunfire and quickly gathered a description of the suspects. They spotted a motorcycle matching the description traveling at high speed and pursued it.

The chase ended at the intersection of Aaron Aronov Drive and Valley Road in Fairfield when Moorer lost control of the motorcycle and was apprehended.

Moorer was booked into Birmingham City Jail on a 48-hour felony hold and later transferred to Jefferson County Jail with no bond set.
