Bengaluru Drivers Arrested for ₹90 Lakh Fraud in Logistics Startup

Four Porter Drivers Exploit System Vulnerabilities

by Ananya Mehta

In a significant fraud case, four drivers from Bengaluru’s app-based logistics company, Porter, have been arrested for cheating the firm of Rs90 lakh. The fraud, which persisted for eight months, was uncovered following a complaint by SmartShift Logistics Solutions Private Limited.

The accused—Shreyas TL (29), Kaushik KS (26), Ranganath PR (26), and Anand Kumar (30)—exploited vulnerabilities in the company’s system through geo-spoofing and fake customer orders. Kaushik, who previously worked with taxi aggregators, initiated the scheme after noticing reimbursement processes for canceled trips.

The investigation revealed that the drivers manipulated the system to siphon off funds, ultimately leading to their arrest by the South East CEN Crime police in July. The case underscores the importance of stringent security measures in technology-driven logistics solutions.
