The Delhi Police Crime Branch has cracked down on an international job fraud and human trafficking racket, arresting three accused involved in defrauding over 500 Indian workers with false promises of lucrative employment in Kyrgyzstan.
The complaint was lodged by the managing director of a consultancy firm against Indo Kyrgyz Global Pvt. Ltd., located in Mangolpuri. The accused include Mahavir Singh (director), his son Sahil Narwal (director), Atul Mathur (finance manager), and Kamal Kumar (HR manager).
In 2023, Mahavir Singh convinced the complainant of a large labour contract in Kyrgyzstan. To build trust, the complainant was taken to Kyrgyzstan and shown fake operations. Based on these false assurances, Rs 4.62 crore was transferred to facilitate visas and job contracts for nearly 500 workers, each promised a monthly salary of Rs 60,000 and one-year contracts.
Despite processing 463 visas, only 346 workers were deployed. Many faced forced resignations, non-payment of salaries, and intimidation. Over 300 workers eventually returned to India with the complainant’s support, but the accused refused refunds.
On May 21, Delhi Police raided the company’s office and arrested Sahil Narwal, Atul Mathur, and Kamal Kumar while they were attempting to vacate the premises. Police recovered incriminating chats, agreements, receipts worth over Rs 1.24 crore, and bank records showing money transfers to company and personal accounts.
