Sangeeta Sahu Arrested in Telangana Ganja Smuggling Case

Odisha-based supplier held after interstate police operation

by Ananya Mehta

Telangana Excise Department’s State Task Force (STF) has arrested Sangeeta Sahu, also known as Geeta Sahu, a notorious ganja supplier operating out of Khallikote village in Odisha. Her arrest marks a significant breakthrough in dismantling a broader narcotics network spanning multiple states.

The STF team, acting on credible intelligence, travelled to Odisha and secured her arrest with assistance from the local police. Sahu was then transported to Telangana for further interrogation.

According to officials, Sangeeta had been supplying ganja wholesale for over four years, with her operations concentrated near Bhubaneswar. She maintained strong ties with major dealers in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh, distributing large consignments of the narcotic based on regional demand.

Authorities suspect that her arrest will unravel deeper connections in the interstate drug trafficking syndicate. Investigations are ongoing to identify her associates and financial backers.
