EVANSVILLE, Ind. — An Illinois man, 59-year-old James McCollum, was arrested following a drug bust during a traffic stop in Vanderburgh County.
Deputies pulled McCollum over for making an illegal U-turn and reported that he failed multiple field sobriety tests.
During the stop, authorities found nearly $4,000 in cash in McCollum’s possession. He told deputies the money was from selling watches and admitted there might be a “small amount” of marijuana in the car. However, a search revealed nearly 3 pounds of marijuana.
Further investigation showed that McCollum has multiple prior drug convictions in Louisiana and Texas. He was also out on bond in Illinois at the time of this arrest.
McCollum is currently being held without bond in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
