DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A Moline man is facing multiple charges after a chaotic early morning incident at a Davenport nightclub led to a police chase and the recovery of a firearm.
David Torress III, 25, was arrested after he allegedly displayed a firearm during a disturbance at M Lounge, located at 217 Brady Street, around 1:39 a.m. on Sunday. Police say the situation began when Torress got into an altercation and was being escorted out of the club by a bouncer. In an attempt to intimidate the bouncer, he lifted his shirt to reveal a gun tucked in his waistband.
When officers arrived on the scene, Torress fled west on foot, ignoring police commands. Witnesses confirmed he had a weapon, and officers saw him reach for it during the chase. Torress was then seen throwing a Glock 30S .45 pistol under a dumpster before continuing to flee. The gun was later recovered by police.
Upon apprehension, officers found cocaine in Torress’s possession. He was also confirmed to be a convicted felon, with prior charges including possession of a stolen firearm in Moline.
Torress now faces the following charges:
Assault while displaying a weapon
Felon in possession of a firearm
Interference with a weapon
Being ineligible to carry a weapon
Possession of a controlled substance
He is currently being held at the Scott County Jail on a $15,000 cash-only bond.
