In a major crackdown on drug smuggling and sales in Bhojpur district, police arrested three individuals, including a mother-son duo, in two separate operations on Thursday.
According to Parichay Kumar, ASP and Ara Sadar SDPO, the first operation was conducted under Ara Town police station, where Pushpa Devi and her son Bittu Bhagat were apprehended with 86 grams of heroin. Investigations revealed that the duo frequently sold heroin in the Gangi area of Gausganj locality.
In a separate raid under Piro police station, Banarsi Sao, a resident of Basawan Rai ka Tola, was arrested with 8.6 kilograms of ganja, estimated to be worth around Rs 4 lakh.
The police have initiated further investigations to dismantle the drug network operating in the region.
