Youth Stabbed to Death Over Beedi in Jabalpur Six Arrested

CCTV captures shocking murder in Shaktinagar over minor dispute

In a shocking and senseless act of violence, a youth was stabbed to death in Shaktinagar, Badanpur under Gadha police station limits in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, reportedly over a beedi (hand-rolled cigarette).

The incident occurred when Abhay Rakeshia, a resident of Badanpur, was standing near his friend’s house. Two bike-borne men, Amit Ben and his friend, approached Abhay and demanded a beedi. When Abhay refused, one of the assailants suddenly attacked him with a knife, inflicting critical injuries before fleeing the scene.

The attack was captured on CCTV, which later helped police identify the culprits. Abhay was immediately rushed to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, police acted swiftly and arrested six individuals connected to the crime. According to Additional SP Suryakant Sharma, the accused are:

Shani Jangade (22) – Purani Basti, Jhanda Chowk, Ranji

Aman Kewat (20) – Manmohan Nagar, Bada Patthar

Ankit Giray (20) – Fakkar Baba Mandir

Anshul Malik (21) – Ganga Maiya Yadav Pan Bhandar

Govind Guru (18) – Raksha Nagar Colony, Durga Mandir

Karan Giray (20) – Fakkar Baba Mandir

The victim’s family described the accused as habitual troublemakers, causing unrest in the locality. An FIR has been filed, and police have launched a city-wide checking campaign at key intersections to deter further knife-related violence.

Authorities assure strict legal action as investigations continue.
