In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have dismantled an international drug trafficking syndicate, arresting three key accused, including the chief supplier, in coordinated raids across Delhi and Punjab.
Led by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Dwarka District Police under DCP Ankit Singh, the operation aims to curb the drug menace and make Delhi a drug-free zone.
The probe began with a tip-off received by Head Constable Kuldeep about a drug consignment transported in trolley bags by train from Bihar, destined for Dwarka.
On May 23, police apprehended 50-year-old Rajesh from Jai Vihar, Najafgarh near Dwarka Metro Station, recovering 6.06 kg of ganja (cannabis) from him.
Subsequent searches of Rajesh’s rented flat in Vikaspuri’s JG Block uncovered a massive stash of 168.89 kg ganja. Rajesh confessed to using the posh locality flat as a storage hub to avoid suspicion. He revealed that the ganja was procured from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, sourced originally from Bihar, and transported via train.
Rajesh admitted receiving around 300 kg of ganja, distributing large quantities across Delhi and NCR.
Following Rajesh’s confession, Krishnanand Choudhary, the key supplier from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, was arrested on May 26. He confirmed his role in coordinating shipments from Bihar to Delhi.
A local distributor, Krishan, was also arrested from Indira Market, Najafgarh, where police recovered an additional 2.033 kg of ganja.
All three remain in custody as investigations continue to uncover the syndicate’s full network, including railway routes and financial channels.
