Mpumalanga, South Africa – Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of journalist Sibusiso Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Precious Mdhluli. The arrests, made in the early hours of Tuesday morning, bring the total number of suspects in custody to eight.

The three suspects, aged between 23 and 43, were apprehended in the Nokaneng area of Kwamhlanga following a coordinated operation involving the South African Police Service (SAPS) crime intelligence, the provincial tracking team, and the organised crime unit.

Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane confirmed that the arrests followed months of relentless investigation into the couple’s mysterious disappearance in February 2025. A recent search in Limpopo led to the discovery of human remains, which are believed to belong to the missing couple. Forensic testing is underway to confirm their identities.

The five suspects arrested previously have already appeared in court, while the three new suspects are scheduled to appear before the KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, facing charges of kidnapping, hijacking, and house robbery.

Acting provincial commissioner Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi commended the efforts of the investigation team and emphasized the commitment of the SAPS to uncover the full truth behind the tragic events. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are determined to ensure that all responsible parties are brought to justice.
