Police Arrest Mohd Imran Khan & Waris Rashid Dar in Drug Bust

Mohammad Iqbal Dar Also Arrested in Sopore with Contraband

In its ongoing fight against the drug trade, the police have made notable arrests in Budgam and Sopore. A police spokesperson confirmed the successful apprehension of three drug peddlers and the recovery of significant quantities of contraband.

The first breakthrough occurred when a police team from Police Post Soibugh, stationed at a checkpoint near Soibugh Diyar Bridge, intercepted two suspicious individuals attempting to flee. The duo was tactfully apprehended, and a heroin-like substance was found in their possession. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohd Imran Khan, son of Abdul Rahman Khan, and Waris Rashid Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, both residents of Narkara, Budgam. A case (FIR No. 108/2025) has been filed at Police Station Budgam, and the investigation is ongoing.

In a similar operation in Sopore, Mohammad Iqbal Dar, a notorious drug peddler, was apprehended by Police Station Dangiwacha. Iqbal, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, hails from Drusoo Khalisa Rafiabad. He was arrested in connection with FIR No. 22/2025 under sections 8/22 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Earlier investigations had led to the seizure of 496 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus, with additional capsules being recovered as further investigation unfolded.

The police remain committed to eradicating drug-related issues in society and protecting the youth from the dangers of narcotics. Authorities urge the public to report any drug-related activities in their communities to assist in these ongoing efforts.
