JACKSON, MS – Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced the sentencing of Jimmie Ray Fields from Lucedale, Mississippi, on 25 counts of child exploitation. This case was investigated by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office with help from the Lucedale Police Department and prosecuted by both the Attorney General’s Office and the George County District Attorney’s Office.

On October 2, Judge Calvin Taylor of the George County Circuit Court sentenced Fields to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC). Each of the 25 counts related to his possession of child sexual abuse material carries a 40-year sentence, but all counts will run concurrently. Fields must serve his sentence day-for-day without the possibility of parole and will be required to register as a sex offender upon release.
