by Amelia Crawford

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — A 61-year-old woman from the Bronx, Grisel Rosario, is facing multiple charges after she allegedly attempted to open a bank account in Manheim Township using a forged Georgia driver’s license, a fake name, and fraudulent documents.

Rosario was arrested on April 17 at the First National Bank on Lititz Pike, where a suspicious bank employee triggered a holdup alarm after recognizing her as a potential fraud suspect, according to Manheim Township Police.

Upon investigation, police discovered suspected heroin, a fake debit card, and a broken crack pipe Rosario allegedly tried to conceal in a chair. She was charged with forgery, two counts of identity theft, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

She waived her preliminary hearing on April 25 and is currently out on $10,000 bail, posted on April 28. Her formal arraignment is scheduled for May 23 at 9 a.m. in Courtroom A of the Lancaster County Courthouse.

Police say the fraudulent ID contained Rosario’s photo edited into the document, and she also submitted a forged utility bill as part of her application.
