WEST VIRGINIA (WCHS) — A significant drug operation targeting several counties in southern West Virginia has led to two arrests and the seizure of a wide range of illegal substances, firearms, and money.
The Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, in coordination with multiple local law enforcement agencies, launched operation “Down the Road,” which resulted in the confiscation of two bricks of fentanyl, 105 grams of marijuana, 5,543 grams of fentanyl, 19 grams of crack cocaine, 960 grams of methamphetamine, three firearms, three vehicles, and a large sum of cash, according to a statement from the West Virginia State Police.
As part of the operation, two individuals, Antonio Padgett, 26, and Cordero Hayes, 34, were arrested. Authorities are expecting more arrests as the investigation continues.
Padgett faces nine counts of drug conspiracy, while Hayes is charged with nine counts of drug conspiracy and nine counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
Both suspects were taken to Southwestern Regional Jail. Padgett is being held on a $150,000 cash-only bond, while Hayes is being held on a $500,000 bond.
