NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) – A 29-year-old Natchitoches man, Yepremian Zeno, was arrested early on May 2 after leading police on a brief chase and being found in possession of a large cache of drugs and a stolen firearm.
Around 1:13 a.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) attempted to pull Zeno over near Pavie and Anita Streets. He allegedly refused to stop and drove to a residence in the 1100 block of Pavie Street, where both he and a passenger fled the vehicle on foot.
While the passenger escaped into the neighborhood, Zeno reportedly ran inside the house before emerging and surrendering to police. A search of the residence led officers to uncover a Springfield XD-9 handgun reported stolen through NPD, along with an extensive quantity of narcotics.
Seized items included:
904.1 grams of marijuana
4 grams of suspected synthetic marijuana
27 bags of suspected fentanyl
31 grams of suspected methamphetamine
10 grams of suspected cocaine
1,085 pills of suspected MDMA (ecstasy)
232 Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills
Additional pills: Xanax, Amphetamine Dextroamphetamine, Buprenorphine Naloxone, Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride
Drug paraphernalia
$2,487 in cash
Charges against Zeno include:
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
17 counts of illegal carrying of weapons in presence of drugs
Illegal possession of a stolen firearm
Three counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs
17 counts of possession of Schedule II drugs
Possession of Schedule IV drug
Four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia
Traffic violations including failure to stop
Zeno is currently held at the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Detention Center.
