MARTINSVILLE, Va. – A man has been arrested in connection to an ongoing homicide investigation following the discovery of a body on April 29 in Martinsville.
Jermaine Dominique Finney, 36, of Martinsville, has been charged with concealing or transporting a dead body, a Class 6 felony. He is currently being held without bond at the Martinsville City Jail, and authorities say additional charges and arrests are expected.
The investigation began when the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a deceased man found lying on the shoulder of the 500 block of Lee’s Ridge Road. The man, later identified as 34-year-old James Baldwin, Jr., also of Martinsville, had apparent gunshot wounds.
Police traced the incident back to a residence at 1145 Ridge Road, where evidence obtained through a search warrant confirmed the homicide occurred inside the home.
The investigation remains active, with both the Martinsville Police Department and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office continuing to pursue leads.
