The Hyderabad Cybercrime Police arrested Deepak Kumar, a relationship manager at a private bank in Uttar Pradesh, for his involvement in a Rs 1.2 crore trading fraud case.
According to the police, Kumar had fraudulently supplied a bank account to cybercriminals on the Telegram platform, in exchange for a commission. Investigations revealed that the account provided by Kumar had been involved in 23 cybercrime cases across India, with a staggering total of Rs 6 crore in fraudulent transactions being processed through it.
The fraud came to light after a local victim in Hyderabad filed a complaint, reporting a loss of Rs 1.2 crore in a trading scam. Acting on this complaint, the Cybercrime Police tracked down the bank account used in the fraud and arrested Deepak Kumar.
Authorities have linked Kumar to a broader cybercrime syndicate operating across the country. The investigation is ongoing, with further arrests and connections to other fraudulent activities expected.
