Two men, Shubham and Shokeen Khan, were arrested at Lucknow airport on Sunday night, in connection with the murder of a property dealer in Paschim Vihar, Delhi, according to police sources.
The property dealer, whose identity has not been disclosed, was gunned down on April 11. Following the incident, a thorough investigation led to the identification of the four shooters involved in the killing, all of whom were reportedly from Haryana. Police believe the murder was orchestrated by notorious gangster Kapil Sangwan.
The investigation revealed that Shubham was driving the Swift car used in the murder, while Suraj sat behind him. Taranjeet was in the front passenger seat, and Shubham’s accomplice, Shokeen Khan, was seated behind him.
Further inquiry showed that the shooters had rented the Swift car in Karol Bagh a day before the crime. They then checked into a hotel, Hotel Apple Tree in Dwarka, using fake documents. On the day of the murder, the gang left the hotel early, arrived at Paschim Vihar, and waited for the target to leave his house. They knew the victim drove a Fortuner SUV and ambushed him around 7 am, shooting him dead.
Interestingly, Kapil Sangwan, the gangster believed to be behind the murder, posted on social media, accusing the victim of having ties to rival gangster Mahal, further suggesting the motive was related to a gang conflict.
Delhi Police are continuing the search for additional suspects involved in the killing. They will seek custody of Shubham and Shokeen Khan for further investigation into the case.
