SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Kevin Hurley, 67, of Aptos, has been arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious acts against children, as well as dissuading a witness. The arrest occurred on March 21 after an investigation by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, two victims have been identified in the case. Investigators revealed that Hurley’s prior involvement in a local youth agricultural program and a church group is prompting them to look into the possibility of additional victims.
The investigation began after one of the alleged victims reported a sexual battery that occurred “several years ago.” Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact investigators at 831-471-1121.
The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the case as they seek to determine if other victims may have been affected.
