Connecticut Man Charged After Months of Investigation Into Homicide

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Julio Wright, 34, has been arrested and charged with murder and tampering with evidence following an investigation into the death of 67-year-old Roger Davis in Middletown.

On November 4, 2024, Middletown police conducted a property check on River Road where they discovered Davis’ body. Due to the circumstances of his death and the crime scene, the Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.

Investigators worked on the case for several months, recovering both physical and forensic evidence from the scene and the victim’s body, which ultimately led to Wright being identified as a suspect. Detectives served multiple search warrants and gathered additional evidence during the investigation, culminating in the issuance of an arrest warrant for Wright.

Wright was arrested on Thursday at Middletown Superior Court, where he had appeared for an unrelated case. He has been held on a $2 million bond.

Authorities are asking anyone with further information about the homicide to contact Middletown police at 860-638-4140.
