The Woonsocket Police Department has arrested two individuals in connection with a violent stabbing that seriously injured a 19-year-old man.
According to the police, the victim walked into Landmark Medical Center on Sunday evening, severely injured and unable to communicate well. Investigators discovered that the incident stemmed from a car accident on Elm Street that occurred around 4:45 p.m. The crash led to a confrontation between two groups of young adults and juveniles, which escalated into the stabbing.
As a result of their investigation, detectives arrested a 17-year-old male on charges of Felony Assault and Battery. The teenager was transported to the Rhode Island Training School.
Additionally, Ryan Sykes, a man from Lincoln, was arrested and charged with Obstructing Officers during the investigation. Police initially reported that the victim was in critical condition, but by Monday, they confirmed that the victim’s condition had stabilized.
