Miguel Angel Garcia Hernandez Arrested for Security-Widefield Homicide

Suspect charged with murder after victim found in vehicle

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. – Authorities have arrested 29-year-old Miguel Angel Garcia Hernandez in connection with a homicide in Security-Widefield on Monday morning.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy discovered a stopped vehicle near Crawford Avenue and Withington Drive. Upon investigation, the deputy found an unconscious male passenger inside the car.

Suspect Identified, ICE Confirms Illegal Status
Following an investigation, authorities identified Hernandez as the suspect. On Tuesday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed that Hernandez was in the U.S. illegally.

Charges and Detainment
Hernandez has been charged with:

First-degree murder

Second-degree kidnapping

Felony menacing

False imprisonment

He is currently being held without bond at the El Paso County Jail as the investigation continues.
