In a significant anti-drug operation, Panbazar police arrested three drug peddlers on Wednesday near the 2 No Railway Gate, Panbazar. The arrested individuals have been identified as Arup Nath (24) from Palengbari, Chirang; Biki Das, also known as Kancha (26), from Balipara, Tezpur; and Sanjay Mandal (29) from Notunbazar, Hojai.
During the operation, police recovered 13 plastic vials containing suspected heroin weighing 17.90 grams. Additionally, Rs 1,483 in cash was seized from the accused. The trio was taken into custody, and the authorities have launched further investigations to identify any links to broader drug trafficking networks operating in the city.
The police are continuing their probe to dismantle any potential larger-scale drug distribution operations connected to the suspects.
