San Jose police have arrested five individuals in connection to a gang-related shooting that took place on July 21, 2023. The incident began when four male suspects threatened an adult male victim with weapons, including a machete, knife, and firearm, at a home on Dubert Lane near Santee Drive.

The suspects fled the scene but later returned and fired multiple rounds at the residence. One of the bullets entered a second home, striking a mattress and narrowly missing a person who was asleep at the time.

As police investigated, they identified the suspect vehicle, locating it near Story and King Roads in East San Jose. Officers conducted a high-risk enforcement stop and arrested the driver, 37-year-old Victor Gonzalez, in connection with the shooting.

Detectives with the Gang Investigations Unit later identified two additional suspects. On October 2, 2023, 34-year-old Ruben Gonzalez was arrested, and on January 15, 2024, 39-year-old Francisco Mercado was taken into custody.

While serving search warrants at the suspects’ homes, police detained two additional individuals, 38-year-old Corrina Namuleg and 18-year-old Timothy Nelson, after they were found with a bag containing firearms. Both were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and possession of illegal firearms.

A total of eight firearms were recovered, including three that were privately manufactured, along with a machete and ammunition. All five suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on multiple felony charges.

Anyone with further information on the case is urged to contact Detective Escobedo or Officer Havlick by phone at 408-277-3835 or via email.
