JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — Four individuals are facing charges following a narcotics operation conducted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office last week.
The operation, which took place on January 15, led to the seizure of illegal drugs, firearms, and cash in the Bessemer and Fairfield areas. Detectives initially arrested Sharron Deet, 37, and Destiney Jones, 34, in the 1200 block of Cedar Street in Brighton. Deet is facing charges of second-degree marijuana possession and two counts of failure to appear in felony cases. He remains at the Jefferson County Jail without bond. Jones is charged with drug trafficking and was released on a $60,000 bond.
The operation continued in Fairfield, where officers attempted to stop a black Jeep Wrangler at the intersection of 34th Street and Avenue G. The driver, 39-year-old Darius Davison, fled the scene but was apprehended after a short pursuit on foot. Davison is charged with three counts of drug trafficking, attempting to elude, and second-degree marijuana possession. His bond is set at $1,531,000, and he remains in custody.
A female passenger in the Jeep remained at the scene, and authorities plan to seek her arrest on charges of criminal mischief, attempting to elude, and felony giving false information.
The sheriff’s office reported the following seizures from the operation: 63 grams of ecstasy, 50.11 grams of crack cocaine, 24.46 grams of cocaine, 51.67 grams of methamphetamine, 25.55 grams of a fentanyl/meth compound, and 4.82 grams of marijuana. Additionally, a Jeep Wrangler, two firearms, $3,037 in cash, digital scales, and packaging materials were confiscated during the operation.
